Chisan,

I love reading your description and seeing your analysis emerge in your blogs. Like you said, I think you're getting the hang of this "reflection" thing ;-)

I would ask, though, that you consider more what's at the heart of the problems you see in these classes. It's okay to analyze what's NOT working as well as what you're doing that IS working.

And, as you reflect, consider what you would different not only on a case-by-case basis but in the overall organization of these classes. How can you get young people to engage in useful physical activity and "enjoy" it? I remember many days of PE in high school AND in college. We were required to take PE all 4 years in HS and 2 full years in college. There were times when I was thoroughly UNENGAGED but there were also times when I loved doing games and activities.

Can you find the secret to making kids want to come to class, dress out and participate?

Chisan, your work was very impressive. Thank you for taking the time to create a good lesson for your buddy. I'll bet that she recognized your hard work and appreciated the time that you took to create an effective lesson for HER. You must be a teacher.

I like list-group-label because it can be used (as you did) in a tactile way. This approach makes learning more engaging for students.

Very good. I'm curious to see you encore (grin). NB

It's good that you noticed the lack of stucuture and organization in the lesson. These items are important, don't you agree? I'm curious about your analysis of this lesson. Why do you think the teacher approached his lesson this way? Were there any positives with this approach? Is it okay to be unstructured? Hmmmm. Keep thinking.

ya, i seem to be learning a fiar amount too. it's a bit intense though. i feel like the real teachers are laughing behind our backs at how seriously we seem to be taking everything. i think they are all thinking..."calm down".

I was not sure about the block too, but as I got to see what we were going to learn and how it was going to help and prepare us, it was not too bad. I am glad that our university has this program. I must say I was clueless about teaching but now I'm more confident.
